Children with anxiety often feel distracted at school and are unable to concentrate and learn new things. Often friendships are affected as children may not be going to school regularly, or may attend school but may feel unhappy or depressed and struggle to see the joy in having friendships, they may have become introverted and withdrawn and don’t make an effort with others. School can be a lonely place without friends. Children, especially teenagers may refuse to go to school because of friendship issues, or challenges in learning.
It is important to address any issues that children may be experiencing as it is likely that it will affect them personally, their family, their friendships, and their education over time!

My name is Georgia Turner and I am a qualified and licensed NLP4kids practitioner. I have had specialist training to work with children and teenagers. I am also a qualified teacher. Working with young people is enjoyable, getting them from a place of discomfort, to where they want to be. My therapy sessions are friendly, effective, and engaging, and young people leave feeling like they have taken a big step in the right direction!
Using NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) which is a talking therapy, children learn to feel more confident and lead happier lives, getting rid of unwanted problems, such as anxiety. This leads to happier households, better friendship groups, and improved achievement at school.
I use NLP techniques and strategies to impact thinking through activities that are fun and engaging. Children enjoy the sessions and leave them feeling focused and confident, with new tools in their back pocket!
The difference between NLP therapy and counselling is that often counselling can take 20 + sessions. During this time children can feel significantly unhappy over a lengthy period of time. NLP is proactive and often results are seen much sooner.
The consultation is FREE and takes place with the child and the parent/s are welcome also. It will last for 15 – 30 minutes and can be face-to-face or online. I can have a consultation with the parent alone, via telephone, if the child is already happy to attend therapy sessions and is keen to begin. If the consultation involves the child, I will begin by playing a game or an activity, to get to know your child and for them to get to know me. This helps them to feel more comfortable. Following this I will ask some questions, to get to know more about the problem your child is facing, so that I can devise a bespoke plan to treat the issue.
Following the consultation, sessions take place with the child alone. For face-to-face sessions, this will be in my therapy room in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. This allows the child to do all of the talking and thinking! Sessions last for 1 hour and involve discussions, drawings, visualisations etc, through which I deliver NLP techniques. At the end of a session, you will receive feedback to inform you of the progress your child has made. Your child will leave the therapy session with a task, which will encourage them to practise some of the activities that we have worked on; implementing strategies to help with their problem. This is your child’s opportunity to take action and tackle their problems! Where appropriate, parents will be informed of ways that they or the child’s school can further support the child. Book a call back today and don’t let your child’s problems snowball!

“We came to Georgia for help when our daughter’s worrying and anxiety began to take over. It was mostly at bedtime but most conversations were around what she was worrying about. After the first session, we began to see a change and were given some great strategies that she took. She began to become an enjoyable positive thing again. We haven’t looked back and I feel that we have our happy, confident little girl back again.”
